THE STORY OF MOUNTAIN WORKS

Behind Mountain Works you'’ll find a group of people from different parts of the world. More than 30 years of manufacturing and distribution with some of the very best have taught us many incredible things. During this time, fabrics, products, attitudes and conditions have changed enormously.

Mountain Works / Ocean Works is the result of our collective experiences, joined to form a new project since 2002.

We make functional clothing related to the mountains and the sea. Our designs are clean, based on our Scandinavian heritage, combined with technical fabrics and updated manufacturing methods. Most of our styles work just as well in town as on the mountain or at sea.

The Mountain Works and Ocean Works lines are distributed through outdoor, marine and lifestyle stores in the Scandinavian markets as well as in a few selected places in other parts of the world.

THUNDERLIGHT DOWN VEST

A down vest is rather useful year-round, no matter if you're a climber, skier, or an adventure traveller.

Its features are few but good to save weight and pack volume.

COLD WAR DOWN PARKA

This could be one of the warmest, waterproof jackets in the world. We have chosen a very high quality Goose Down, baffle (box) construction, waterproof fabrics, taped seams and water resistant zippers.

Many great features such as a Napoleon pocket, an adjustable down-filled hood, warm lined hand pockets and extra insulation in certain areas.

By the way, its name has nothing to do with world politics.

The Monster Down Parka was made for extremely cold weather. It is filled with plenty of goose down and the shell fabrics are waterproof and durable. It has a removable fake fur brim around the downfilled hood, fleece lined handwarmer pockets and many other clever features yet to be discovered.

The Pad Pants were originally built for the ocean, but have become a favourite ashore as well.

The Epic® canvas has a natural poison-free treatment with high water and dirt resistance, even after extended usage and several washes. The back pockets and knees are shaped to carry "pads" for warmth and comfort at sea.

Many kids wanted the Nations Down Parka last year. So, we made one for the kids this season.

It has more narrow down channels than the Kids Fat Boy, making it a bit lighter.

Still, you will find all the pockets and features like the bigger version, including the exchangable flag badges. The hood is detachable with press buttons for safety reasons.

The Light Johns were developed from our Long Johns. These have much lighter and stretchier shell fabric, bigger knee pads, additional leg pockets and some other good adjustments.

The Light Johns go well with anything but most of all with the Split Vision Jacket which was made according to the same DNA.

SPLIT VISION JACKET

The aim of the Split Vision jacket was to create the strongest, lightest and fastest jacket for keel boat racing ever made. It has a slim fit, stretch shell fabric, side windows in the extended hood, elbow guards, and bigger chest pockets to hold equipment such as a portable GPS.

The lower handwarmer pockets have been removed for an even smoother fit. Instead, you will find side ventilations with waterproof zippers at exactly the same height as the pockets of a fleece jacket underneath for hand warmth and gear.
